The narrative Potential of signs of use in textiles - a speculative view

The relationship between humans and textiles is intertwined with culture and personal stories, as the signs of textile use hold the potential for emotional connection, providing an opportunity for inclusive sustainability. The Installation features two woven objects that condense material explorations, observations, and conversations. This speculative approach encourages discussions about mass production and the potential of transience in our capitalistic system. One object represents the current preference for newness, while the other embodies the emotional significance of a well-worn item. By treasuring the shared experiences and stories associated with textiles, we can learn to appreciate their signs of use and narrative potential. Textiles, as bearers of memories and potential for enduring object-human relationships, influence the participants' behavior and thoughts.
